What you won’t get are AI flyers or a man telling you what to do. 😜💡 Important Note! The following is only for those wanting to run an official Women of Lancaster event. If you’d like to run an event indepenently while partnering with us in some capacity please check out the Sponsors or Allies & Partners page.
Step 1: Are we the right fit?
Part of what makes WoL events special is that we try to keep a high standard on what you can expect at one of our experiences. The first step is making sure that WoL is the best partner for your event.
If not, don’t fear! We still might be able to partner with you in some other way!
Timing
Please be aware it can take us 1-3 weeks to approve events depending on availability of the coordination board.
As a general rule, we ask for 30 days from time of approval to be able to market the event successfully through our channels.

Approvals are also subject to our calendar availability. You do not have to have the entire event ready but a strong concept is helpful for approval.

-The pursuit of anti-racism, diversity and inclusion for people of color in all spaces.
-LGBTQIA inclusion, including welcoming non-binary people into our spaces.
-Pushing back against ageism and including ages 21+
-Strive to partner with local and woman-owned businesses predominantly in the city of Lancaster, and Lancaster county.

Experience
WoL differentiates itself by striving to create events that are “anti-awkward” and foster real connection and impact.
These are example inquiry questions:
-Is your event a woman-only concept?
-What impact do you hope to make on your attendees and how do you hope to achieve that?
-What efforts will you make to reduce awkwardness and uncertainty at the event?
-Will NA beverage options be offered?
The experience matters a lot!
Step 2: Financial Planning
The reality is that events can make money, and they can cost money.
Let’s get what you can expect out of the way so you can decide if this is right for you.
The Split
Women of Lancaster capacity have the following percentage split of the revenue.
15% - Transaction fees & Website Hosting
25% - Marketing Campaign Creation
10% - (Optional) Marketing Materials
50% - 60% - Event Host Proceeds
Event hosts will be expected to secure a venue and finance all event costs. It’s important to keep this in mind if you’d like to ensure that your event is profitable.
We can provide feedback and coaching on this to help ensure your success! We only accept events we truly want to succeed.
All ticket sales must occur over the official, Women of Lancaster website.
Proceeds to the host will be delivered within 10 business days of the event’s completion.

Basically, a WoL should look, sound and feel like a Women of Lancaster event.
If you’re looking to create something independently there are other ways we can support you!
If you’re looking to work with us, odds are we’d love to have you! We’re always looking for ambitious women to join the organizing board and organize with us on a regular basis.
Ticket pricing
We strive to host events ranging in prices from Free 99 to super curated travel events that can be higher ticket.
Generally, most of our major social events are in the $20-$25 dollar range.
We are willing to donate our marketing services for the right free or low ticket events if you are willing to donate your hosting time.
For paid events that are official Women of Lancaster events, we will need to pre-determine the best pricing structure your event as part of our agreement to work together.
We only partner if we believe you will succeed! When you host with us we will be bringing all of our connections and marketing expertise to the table to help your event thrive.

Please do not submit your event without first having done some cursory research. Ensure financially you will be able to book the venue you have in mind and that they have availability.
Many local businesses will potentially offer their space for free, if you need assistance we may be able to help if your concept is strong otherwise.
Be aware of expenses and what you might need in order to make the event worthwhile for you. When all of that is ready you can submit an Event Proposal request with us below.

Prep & Profesh
When planning your event keep in mind you are now representing Women of Lancaster.
Treat guests with respect and dignity. Part of running an event is managing the emotions and logistics for your guests.
Arrive early, be prepared and be respectful to the owners of the venue. Many local Lancaster businesses are happy to offer their spaces in return for additional business which is great.
Leave it better than you found it. Never assume the venue is responsible for all cleaning or basic trash pick up.
Respect that your guests are spending their money and time on your event and treat them like they’re special, because they are!
If you have questions or run into snags, a WoL organizer will be there to assist! You’ll also get some guidance before hand.
The best part of working with WoL is you don’t have to go at it alone.
The big day
Running and attending events is really special. You could be helping someone meet their new best friend, get out of the house to escape a challenge they’re facing or delivering a core memory they cherish forever - you never know!
At WoL we really, truly believe these events are special and people just need a reason to find friends and grow. We help create those reasons!
Even more special is that we’re doing this all for women a segment of the world population who is constantly struggling for safety and equal rights.
